Nothing like SENIOR {Best Friends!}

I had the opportunity to work with a group of beautiful young ladies, ready to conquer the world as they are High School Senior graduates! I just love that they asked me to take photos of them, right before they graduated last week to capture this moment in time together! I know they will cherish these photos forever and ever!  I thought these were so cute and full of personality. All the best girls!

Model Team '14 Video!

I woke up this morning to a big surprise!! Our Model Team '14 video is READY!! A HUGE Thank you to Katie St. George!! This video is AMAZING! Katie spent time on both Saturday and Sunday coming to the studio and on location to get this amazing footage!!

and its......Miss United States

 It was amazing to have Miss United States in the studio! When I think back to the fact the I just launched Pageant Couture in January, with the help of Ashley Greenfield, and Jamie Hughes, the past few months have really been a dream come true. Its been a whirlwind and I just love it!

{SENIOR PROMO!} say what?

Oh today is a super cool day as I am excited to launch our FIRST SENIOR PROMO VIDEO!!! Did you know that Senior photography Season is just around the corner!!!???? EKKKKK! ok, let me pull it together here. I wanted to give 2014 Seniors an opportunity to see an experience with us from beginning to end! So I created a {promo video!} My crew (my 9 year old daughter, Madison) and I, with Lee Davis Senior, Lauren, give you a "good, good day"

I ran across this picture just yesterday of Michael! I remembered how much I just loved this shot and really his whole session!!.... I think Michael enjoyed it too!! Many people have often asked if I take photos of Guys? Yes! I do!

Featured Session with Atlee High Senior Juliana!

Now that Senior sessions have slowed down for the most part and I am not running like a crazy person, I am going to feature a session each week from our 2012 seniors! I just adore this session I had with Altee High School Senior Juliana! We traveled around to a few beautiful places to find just the right "fit" for the outfits we had put together! At one point, we passed a fence along side of the road and we had to STOP, and jump out to get pictures! I just felt that the location fit her outfit perfect! Of course, the yellow flowers were the perfect find, in the midst of a construction site! You never know what you will find! This field of flowers was around for about 2 weeks and then gone with the passing Fall. Oh how I love to find these special places!

Featured Senior Shoot with Twins! (Hanover High 2013)

Twins, Samantha and Danielle, were a hoot to work with! Each with a spirit of fun, and graciousness.
I tried to capture each personality, and style sense. I just adored working with these two ladies! Can you tell them apart?

Here is what mom had to say- so very sweet!
Joy is warm, creative and easy to work with.  The time that she invested in helping choose outfits and accessories paid great dividends. My daughters felt like fashion models and we had such a fun day that we'll always remember .  The pictures are fabulous!  You can't go wrong choosing Joy for portraits!

A very {Seniorologie} DAY!

All I can say is....WOW! WOW, WOW, WOW!  Somehow, many months ago, I found the blog Seniorologie, while learning as much as i could about High School Senior Photography. It has been like a light in my day, everyday! YES.... I read Seniorologie everyday! I have not missed one post since i started reading 8 months ago. Seniorologie is an inspirational blog dedicated to the study of senior portrait photography.The goal is to share inspiration and information from many of the awesome senior photographers out there!They post unique sessions, behind the scenes, marketing, business tips and more! Leslie Kerrigan is the Mastermind, Editor, and founder of Seniorologie (and a celebrity Senior Photographer too....and today..... Studio FBJ  and a few of our 2013 Seniors from Hanover, Virginia is on her infamous blog!! 
I actually wrote Leslie in the summer, and told her what a true gift her blog has been to me. A gift to see photographers from around the country share their stories, tips, and ideas. I could not begin to tell her, how her blog has helped me and my business. That's when i got a surprise back! A request for an article!
Today is a very special day, to see Studio FBJ featured on Seniorologie. Thank you Leslie!

Sneak Peak of a {River} Session

Jessie loves the river. I could think of no other best place than to head to the James! Jessie and I had a blast and we found a few other places to shoot, that also brought out her personality and charm! She kept me laughing the entire time! Enjoy!
