A very {Seniorologie} DAY!

All I can say is....WOW! WOW, WOW, WOW!  Somehow, many months ago, I found the blog Seniorologie, while learning as much as i could about High School Senior Photography. It has been like a light in my day, everyday! YES.... I read Seniorologie everyday! I have not missed one post since i started reading 8 months ago. Seniorologie is an inspirational blog dedicated to the study of senior portrait photography.The goal is to share inspiration and information from many of the awesome senior photographers out there!They post unique sessions, behind the scenes, marketing, business tips and more! Leslie Kerrigan is the Mastermind, Editor, and founder of Seniorologie (and a celebrity Senior Photographer too....and today..... Studio FBJ  and a few of our 2013 Seniors from Hanover, Virginia is on her infamous blog!! 
I actually wrote Leslie in the summer, and told her what a true gift her blog has been to me. A gift to see photographers from around the country share their stories, tips, and ideas. I could not begin to tell her, how her blog has helped me and my business. That's when i got a surprise back! A request for an article!
Today is a very special day, to see Studio FBJ featured on Seniorologie. Thank you Leslie!

New November Cover!

I love to change our Facebook page cover each month! It gives me a chance to feature some of my favorite photos! I wish i could post one from every session, but i only get 3! Enjoy this month of beautiful fall leaves, plaid, and a little 'o everything fall!

TOM's and Trees

Working with Lauren and her mom has been fantastic! We had a great day to shoot this past October. She is beautiful, fun, a shear pleasure to be around. She loves to read and she loves her TOMS! We just happened to pass by this beautiful bridge and got the best shot of two of her favorite things! I know she will cherish this for years to come!

 "Honestly, how many people like getting their pictures taken? All I hear are groans when I tell my kids it's time for pictures. You go to a studio with crying, screaming kids and get pictures with fake backgrounds. Lauren actually had fun doing her senior pictures. Joy's enthusiasm was contagious. It was so hard to narrow down our choices because all the pictures were so good. She had ideas that I never would have thought of. Happy Halloween!

On the MOVE!

Almost 6 months ago, I moved from my petite home studio(after 2 years) to a small studio space in the Hanover Airpark within Headliners Dance Studio. Over the past six months, my photography has grown leaps and bounds and my little studio in busting at the seams with photos and families coming daily to see photos and get makeup and hair done for photos! I decided I had to look for bigger space. I did not plan to move until January, but a space came up around the corner from my current location, that I could not pass up! So today is the big move!! I have enlisted the help of  The Home Decor Physician.....

Jessica Hornedo, to help design the space. Not only has Jessica so far been an AMAZING person to have around, but her ideas are cost effective and nothing short of AMAZING on a small budget! SO here is a little "before". The Studio Space boasts three rooms. A waiting/seating/viewing area. A photography room and a makeup room resepctivly. Its very quaint and I could not be more excited!! TOMORROW we will host Homecoming Makeup for students from Atlee and Patrick Henry High Schools. So we are starting BRIGHT and early today! Lots of before and afters coming!!
